| PURPOSE | To define the policy and procedure for eligibility and selection of residents in the Internal Medicine program sponsored by Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. | ||||||
| SCOPE | Applies to all interns and residents (hereafter all will be referred to as trainees) in the Internal Medicine training program on the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas campus. | ||||||
| PROVISIONS | Applicants with one of the following qualifications are eligible for appointment to residency in Internal Medicine:

| SELECTION | The Internal Medicine training program must select from among eligible applicants on the basis of one’s preparedness, ability, aptitude, academic credentials, communication skills, and personal qualities such as motivation and integrity. It must not discriminate with regard to sex, race, age, religion, color, national origin, disability, or veteran status. The Internal Medicine Residency Program at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas only accepts applications through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). Any final candidates must meet the Human Resources Department requirements for new employee, which includes a negative drug screen and satisfactory criminal background check. The Internal Medicine program sponsored by Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas will participate in the National Resident Matching Program. |
