Internal Medicine Policy For
Addressing Security Reports for Housestaff Incidents

PURPOSE To create a process for monitoring security violations by housestaff.
SCOPE Applies to all interns and residents (hereafter all will be referred to as trainees) in the Internal Medicine training program on the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas campus.
PROVISIONS

If a security report is filed against a trainee, a copy of that report will be sent to the Director of Graduate Medical Education (GME) and the residency program director. The report will be placed in the trainee's file. The GME department and residency program will abide by the Texas Health Resources policy of Progressive Corrective Action and will follow the guidelines of the Policy and Procedure for Supervision, Evaluation, Promotion, Dismissal, Discipline and Grivances of Graduate Medical Education.
