Quality Assurance At Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas

PURPOSE To ensure that formal quality-assurance programs are conducted and that there is a review of complications and deaths.
SCOPE Applies to medical students, interns, residents and fellows (hereafter all will be referred to as trainees) in graduate medical education training programs sponsored by Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas (THD).
PROVISIONS
  1. All trainees will receive instruction in quality-assurance and performance improvement according to their respective residency program.
  2. Trainees will participate in the performance improvement program at THD according to assignments from their Program Directors.
  3. Autopsies will be performed whenever possible and appropriate, including autopsies that represent a diverse spectrum of diseases and complications. The review of death through autopsies will provide educational experience and enhance the quality of patient care.
