Graduate Medical Education Policy For Addressing Security Reports for House Staff Incidents

PURPOSE To create a process for monitoring security violations by medical students, interns, residents and fellows (hereafter all will be referred to as trainees).
SCOPE All trainees currently practicing at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas.    
PROVISIONS If a security report is filed against a trainee, a copy of that report will be sent to the Director of Graduate Medical Education (GME) and the residency program director. The report will be placed in the trainee’s file. The GME department and residency program will abide by the Texas Health Resources policy of Progressive Corrective Action and will follow the guidelines of the Policy and Procedures for Supervision, Evaluation, Promotion, Dismissal, Discipline and Grievances of Graduate Medical Education Trainees
