Concerning Observerships, Externships, And Volunteer Positions For International Medical Graduates

PURPOSE To define the policy for observerships, externships, and volunteer positions requested by international medical graduates (IMG)
SCOPE Applies to all international medical graduates
PROVISIONS

Students who have completed the requirement application to our program and have been chosen for an interview will be permitted to participate in a clinical observerships. They must provide their own malpractice coverage. Students from non LCME accredited medical schools may do an observerships in the Department of Internal Medicine if:

  1. They meet the requirements outlined in the Policy for the Selection of Residents.
  2. Their application through ERAS to our program is complete.
  3. The student has been selected to interview for a position in the residency program.
